GOD’S COVENANT- A CALL TO GOD’S WAY OF SPEAKING: Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak, [Ps. 116:10.] (II Corinthians 4:13)
TRUTH FOR TODAY
Authority MUST have a voice! Whose voice, your voice and my voice! For circumstances, sickness, and even demons to obey, they all must hear a command first! When we speak based on faith in Jesus Christ who is the Word of God, circumstances and situations must obey us. By what authority one might ask? By the authority delegated to us by Jesus Christ! (John 14:12, Matthew 28:18-20) Farther down we will look at one more scripture from the mouth of Jesus to you and me! To walk and live in our authority we must receive the word of God on a personal basis! We must make it our own!
Now for the heart of the matter. This is where true personal change must take place. Our way of thinking, speaking and acting or God’s. Truthfully, most of us settle for some type of blend. Let’s help each other out here.
IT WON’T WORK THAT WAY!
We have to quit allowing our circumstances, troubles and problems to speak to us! We must speak to them through our authority granted to us by the King of Kings Himself! When we do so they will hear and obey! One man said, “I tried that once and it didn’t work, nothing changed so I quit it.” Well, that’s the problem. Faith doesn’t quit thinking, speaking or acting. We are to hold fast to our confession which is the true believers profession.
Here are a few more scriptures to meditate:
Joshua 10:12-Joshua spoke to sun and the moon.
Mark 5:39-Jesus speaks to the storm as He commanded it to cease.
Matthew 21:19-Jesus spoke to the fig tree. The account in Mark 11 states that Jesus answered the tree!
As we read on in Mark 11 Jesus teaches the disciples and us the core principle to be learned by the fig tree event.
“And Peter remembered and said to Him, Master, look! The fig tree which You doomed has withered away! And Jesus, replying, said to them, Have faith in God [constantly]. Truly I tell you, whoever says to this mountain, Be lifted up and thrown into the sea! and does not doubt at all in his heart but believes that what he says will take place, it will be done for him. For this reason I am telling you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe (trust and be confident) that it is granted to you, and you will [get it]. And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him and let it drop (leave it, let it go), in order that your Father Who is in heaven may also forgive you your [own] failings and shortcomings and let them drop.”
THE QUESTION IS; WHAT ARE WE SAYING TO AND ABOUT THE CIRCUMSTANCES THAT WE FIND OURSELVES IN?
WHAT DO WE BELIEVE AND THEN WHAT DO WE SPEAK?
WHAT WE BELIEVE AND WHAT WE SPEAK WILL EVENTUALLY DETERMINE OUR OUTCOMES.
JESUS SAID, “OUT OF THE ABUNDANCE OF THE HEART, THE MOUTH SPEAKS.”
LET’S EARNESTLY LISTEN TO OURSELVES TODAY AND HEAR WHAT WE ARE SAYING AND THEN MAKE THE NECESSARY CHANGES TO LINE UP WITH THE WORD OF GOD!
