GOD’S COVENANT-LIVING IN GOD’S ECONOMY BY FAITH: And there was a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, and who had endured much suffering under the hands of many physicians and had spent all that she had, and was no better but instead grew worse. She had heard the reports concerning Jesus, and she came up behind Him in the throng and touched His garment, For she kept saying, If I only touch His garments, I shall be restored to health. And immediately her flow of blood was dried up at the source, and suddenly she felt in her body that she was healed of her distressing ailment. And Jesus, recognizing in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had gone forth, turned around immediately in the crowd and said, Who touched My clothes? And the disciples kept saying to Him, You see the crowd pressing hard around You from all sides, and You ask, Who touched Me? Still He kept looking around to see her who had done it. But the woman, knowing what had been done for her, though alarmed and frightened and trembling, fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, Daughter, your faith (your trust and confidence in Me, springing from faith in God) has restored you to health. Go in (into) peace and be continually healed and freed from your distressing bodily disease. (Mark 5:25-34)

Many who struggle from one defeat to the next always seem to be asking, “Do I have a right to expect the promises of God to come to pass in my life? The answer is ABSOLUTELY YES! The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus were God’s guarantee to each one of us. No one who wants to partake of God’s power, love and grace is to be left out. But how do we obtain what God promised us? Hebrews 6:11 gives the answer. “In order that you may not grow disinterested and become [spiritual] sluggards, but imitators, behaving as do those who through faith (by their leaning of the entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) and by practice of patient endurance and waiting are now inheriting the promises.”

We see then that faith is one of the keys to manifesting the promises of God in our lives. Look at today’s scripture. The story of the woman with the issue of blood greatly sheds light and truth on the role of faith in our lives. Many struggle and suffer defeat, anxiety, and disappointment because they still try to live life on their own terms, ignoring the light of God’s Word. Let’s see what we can learn from this woman who one moment was a captive, living in defeat and in the next moment was freed by active faith in Jesus!

The first thing that we see is that she had been very sick for twelve years. After all of the doctors and expenses which left her bankrupt, she only had gotten worse. She was finished. Hope was gone. There are people who get up every day with nothing but hopelessness and despair. Some of you are like that or you know somebody like that. BUT THEN SHE MET A MAN NAMED JESUS. She didn’t meet Him on a mental assent level, but met Him through faith.

Next, we see a huge key to manifesting the promises of God. “For she kept saying.” What did she keep saying? Did she keep saying how bad off she was and how bad her life had been? Did she keep saying that she was sick, busted and disgusted to anyone that would listen? Did she keep saying that she was finished and her life had been robbed from her? NO! SHE KEPT SAYING, “If I only touch His garments, I shall be restored to health.” She kept saying the solution, not the problem! What are you and I saying in the face of life’s challenges? HERE IS AN ABSOLUTE TRUTH. IF YOUR FAITH ISN’T SPEAKING IT ISN’T WORKING!

Next, take note of the woman’s positive expectation. She had heard of Jesus and what He was doing according to Acts 10:38. She didn’t say maybe God will heal me or that God might heal me, but not today or maybe I’m not worthy. She had had it with being a captive! NO, BY THE GRACE, LOVE AND POWER OF THE LIVING GOD, SHE SAID, “I shall be restored to health.” Here’s another absolute truth. YOUR’E NOT IN FAITH UNLESS YOU ARE IN POSITIVE EXPECTATION!
Stay connected, stay in faith and stay in expectation.

A Guiding factor is always: THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND!

TREASURES OF WALKING WITH GOD: “O GOD, YOU ARE MY GOD, EARNESTLY I SEEK YOU.” (Psalm 63:1) It is only when I am wholly surrendered to the Spirit that I will be able to live according to God’s will.
