“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. “My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.” John 15:4-8
To All Who Call on the Name of Jesus Christ Our Lord:
This morning during my prayer time, God spoke to me concerning your fears, worries and doubts and told me to tell you that the key to having your every need met lies in your relationship with Jesus. First, understand that either you believe the Word of God is true or you don’t. Belief in the Word of God or unbelief will be evidenced by our thoughts, words and actions. In spite of the news, world circumstances and your own life circumstances, make up your mind to believe that the Word of God is true and be fully persuaded along with Abraham that God is willing and able to perform that which He had promised! (Romans 4:21)

In our scripture for today, Jesus plainly tells us the key to live a worry free life regardless of circumstances and how to have our every need met. Many want the provision and protection of the God’s covenant but few are prepared or willing to have the type of relationship with Jesus that it takes. Jesus tells us that IF we abide in Him and His Word abides in us that whatever we ask for will be done. He goes on to tell us that it is God’s will that we bear much fruit. When we bear much fruit, God the Father is glorified.

The key word here is the word, “abide”. What does it mean to abide? The Greek word used here is meinate. It means to hold; to continue; to abide; to remain; to keep on obeying. It means to dwell, continue, stay, sojourn, rest in or upon; to live; to rest; to nest. Now for your own word study, go back to the scripture and substitute the definitions everywhere the word, “abide” is used. You can easily see that a relationship with Jesus that produces real fruit is much more than a casual or on a need by need basis.

Now for the practical application. Abiding is being set and fixed remaining there. It is continuing on and on in a fixed state, condition or being. The more and longer a branch (you and me) abides in the vine (Jesus), that is, the closer the branch abides to the heart of the vine, the more nourishment a branch draws from the vine and the more fruit it bears.

A person who really begins to believe and trust in Jesus will “continue in” or “hold on to” the Words of Jesus. That person will continue to study, do and live the Word.

I like the definition for abide that says to live. When you live in the Word and the Word lives in you, you experience the supernatural presence, provision and protection of God. Meditate on the words of Psalm 91:1-7 – “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee”.

The word “dwelleth” in the Hebrew is similar to the word abide in our scripture. It means to dwell, to remain, to sit down, to continue, and to inhabit. The thought conveyed is that of a house or habitation. When you think of your thought life, your word life and your action life, where is your habitation? I have been giving this a lot of thought lately, particularly in areas of my life where I am not seeing the manifest presence and power of God. I know He promised and He is faithful, so the problem must be on my end. Where do I abide? Do the Words of Jesus abide in me and me in Him? Have I truly made the shadow of the Almighty my dwelling place?

How about you? Say this with me. I believe that the Word of God is true! I have what it says I have! I can do what it says I can do! I am what it says I am! The Word of God works in every area and circumstance of my life!

We love you and pray for you daily. May you walk in all that the blood of Jesus won for you! Purpose in your heart to honor His blood by walking in faith no matter what your eyes see! STUDY SCRIPTURE-II Corinthians 10:5
A guiding factor is always: THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND!

TREASURES OF WALKING WITH GOD: “O GOD, YOU ARE MY GOD, EARNESTLY I SEEK YOU.” (Psalm 63:1) It is only when I am wholly surrendered to the Spirit that I will be able to live according to God’s will.
