LIVING IN GOD’S ECONOMY

TODAY, WE SEND OUR WARMEST LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO EACH OF YOU. AS YOU STUDY AND MEDITATE GOD’S WORD, MAY IT BECOME A LIVING REALITY IN YOUR LIVES!

We have been studying the keys to living in God’s economy. Oddly enough, as I was typing our greeting for you today, I realized that God’s Word IS a living reality in each area of our lives. You see, God’s Word tells us exactly what to expect in life if we believe and act upon it and conversely what to expect in life if we do not believe and/or do not act upon it. So, I will alter our greeting to say, “TODAY, WE SEND OUR WARMEST LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO EACH OF YOU. AS YOU STUDY AND MEDITATE GOD’S WORD, MAY YOU BELIEVE IT AND ACT UPON IT AND MANIFEST THE PROMISES GIVEN TO YOU OUT OF HIS LOVE AND GRACE!”

Recall that we discussed the fact that God said in Isaiah 26:3-4 that if we “STAY” our mind on Him and trust in Him we will have complete wellness, happiness, friendliness, welfare, health and prosperity. Also we learned that fear; worry and doubt will block the flow of God’s promises and will for us. Faith that thinks, talks and acts like God’s Word is true brings the manifestation of God’s grace, love and power in our lives. Thinking, worrying and doubting brings the manifestation of Satan’s plan for our lives.

To live in the security and success of God’s economy it is crucial that we focus on God and His Word as opposed to the circumstances around us and the lies of the devil. Let’s look at a key aspect of focusing/staying our mind on God. This is vital because it is in this part of our minds that many of us suffer defeat.

Look at I Peter 5:6-7 with me. “(6) Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, (7) Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.”

God tells us to cast all of our anxieties, worries and concerns on Him once and for all. We will consider this in some detail. Many have taught on verse 7 alone, but I don’t believe that you can effectively do verse 7 without first obeying verse 6. I think that many well intended believers are defeated in the area of casting their worries on God and leaving them with Him because they first do not humble themselves under the mighty hand of God.

Consider this for a moment. Worrying or being anxious about anything emphatically says that we have a situation and we don’t trust God to handle it for whatever reason. The first step in humbling ourselves to God and thus the first step to turning over all of our worries to Him is to realize that we can’t do anything of ourselves. We are just spinning our wheels. We must come to the place that we know beyond any doubt that God’s ways and thoughts are far superior to our own. Many of us would say, “That’s silly to even say, of course, God’s ways and thoughts are superior to mine, who would be so foolish to believe otherwise?” Let me ask this then. If we really believe that and we have indeed humbled ourselves to God, why then do we continue to worry about things that God said He would take care of?

The other sticky issue here that inhibits our success in turning our cares over to God is found in the next part of verse 6. It says that God will exalt us in due time once we have humbled ourselves to Him. How many of us want to be exalted in our timeframe? This also includes self-pity and feeling sorry for ourselves. How can you feel sorry for yourself or that life has somehow cheated you if you truly believe that God WILL exalt you in due time? Again, it gets back to the fact that most of us have half-heartedly humbled (if at all) ourselves to God which includes obedience to His Word. So you see, we have some adjustments to make before we can really cast all of our cares upon God.

I am not trying to be critical of anyone. These things have been as much of a struggle in my life as in anyone else’s. But if you are like me, I want to learn the ways of God as opposed to my own. I want to walk in the fullness of God’s love, grace and power. I have tried it my way, it doesn’t work! Is it working for you? Are you still bound at least in some areas of life by worry, anxiety and cares. Get free today! Cast them on God once and for all!
A guiding factor is always: THERE IS NO MIDDLE GROUND!
