GLORY TO GLORY

GOD’S COVENANT- A PLACE OF EXPECTATION: “This was so that, by two unchangeable things [His promise and His oath] in which it is impossible for God ever to prove false or deceive us, we who have fled to Him for refuge might have mighty indwelling strength and strong encouragement to grasp and hold fast the hope (FAVORABLE AND CONFIDENT EXPECTATION, A FORWARD LOOK WITH ASSURANCE) appointed for us and set before us. Now we have this hope (FAVORABLE AND CONFIDENT EXPECTATION, A FORWARD LOOK WITH ASSURANCE) as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whoever steps out upon it—a hope (FAVORABLE AND CONFIDENT EXPECTATION, A FORWARD LOOK WITH ASSURANCE)] that reaches farther and enters into the very certainty of the Presence within the veil.” (Hebrews 6: 18-19)
LET US ALL CLING TO JESUS AS THEIR FORERUNNER INTO THE PRESENCE OF THE FATHER:
Jesus is our entrance in the certainty of the presence of the Father! I will ask you a very important question – a question to which the answer determines the very course and more importantly, the outcomes of your life. WHO AND WHAT IS JESUS TO YOU? It is true that this is a very personal question. However, if Jesus is truly the way to the Father in all of His grace, power and love, then your answer must, I say must; have its substance in the Word of God!
Is your Jesus wrapped and bound in the religion and theology of men? WOULD THE PEOPLE OF THE FIRST CENTURY CHURCH, PARTICULARLY THOSE WHOSE STORY IS TOLD IN THE BOOK OF ACTS, RECOGNIZE YOUR JESUS?
Over the centuries since the first century church, the true image and nature of Jesus has been stripped down and bound in such religious ideas that His glory and power are rarely seen in manifestation in people’s lives. Paul expressed this as a concern in II Corinthians 11:3. “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
The Gospel-The Good News is simple and it should be received in its simplicity. Paul declares the simple Gospel in I Corinthians 15:1-4. Read it with me. “And NOW let me remind you [since it seems to have escaped you], brethren, of the Gospel (the glad tidings of salvation) which I proclaimed to you, which you welcomed and accepted and upon which your faith rests, and by which you are saved, if you hold fast and keep firmly what I preached to you, unless you believed at first without effect and all for nothing. For I passed on to you first of all what I also had received, that Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for our sins in accordance with what the Scriptures foretold That He was buried, that He arose on the third day as the Scriptures foretold….”
I call your attention to the word “saved”. It is the Greek word “sozo”. Most of us know it only as eternal life and clearly that is a big thing. However in the Greek it means so much more. It ALSO means healing, free from disease, protection, deliverance, preservation, wholeness and soundness. Paul says that if we hold fast and keep firmly to the Gospel that he preached we will be saved! That is to say that if we hold fast and keep firmly to the simplicity of the Gospel that we will not only have eternal life but we will live in health, protection, deliverance, preservation, wholeness and soundness!
Do you see why Satan has worked so hard over the centuries to corrupt the simple truth of the Gospel, to deceive you and to steal that which Jesus paid such a high price for on the cross?
Paul further boldly proclaims the very essence of the Gospel in Romans 1:16. See it with your spiritual eyes. Hear it with the ears of your spirit. Receive it and plant it in the fields of your heart. “For I am not ashamed of the Gospel (good news) of Christ, for it is God’s power working unto salvation to everyone who believes with a personal trust and a confident surrender and firm reliance, to the Jew first and also to the Greek…” Here again, the Greek word for salvation means eternal life, health, protection, deliverance, etc…. To conclude today, Lets let Jesus speak of Himself.
“Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.” (Mathew 11:29-30). THIS IS THE JESUS OF THE GOSPEL. THIS IS THE JESUS THAT LEADS US INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD.
WE LOVE YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS- WALLY & JAN
TREASURES OF WALKING WITH GOD: “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”( Mark 11;24) I will take time each day to love God and believe in Him with a firmer faith!!!
